Top Business Apps

2015 is proving to be the year of the mobile user, as with Google’s new algorithm update catering directly to mobile audiences, businesses are learning to communicate with their target market in new ways. With customers choosing to purchase products and services through their cellular device, and business owners and employees opting to work from home, communications between both parties need to be direct and mobile friendly. Many businesses have already adopted a “Bring Your Own Device” mentality and approach to their offices, and employees are now being encouraged to use Social Media and texting for business. Due to the increasing number of mobile users, businesses need to take advantage of mobile apps so that they are able to communicate with clients and colleagues in real time.

With the number of business apps on the market today, it can be difficult to decipher which apps will support your team and clients. The following are a few apps that business owners and employees are turning to;

Office Mobile is an app that was created for Office 365 users. Downloadable on your phone or tablet, Office Mobile allows users to be able to access all Office products such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook. Many turn to this app to view, edit and create documents on their mobile device while traveling out of the office. This app, available for all smartphones, has already been installed on Windows phones. A 1-year subscription is required and costs $69-$99 for Office 365 Personal or Office 365 Home. This app also syncs with all of your devices, allowing you to easily move from working on your tablet to your phone, without losing data.

TripIt is a free app that allows users to plan and organize business trips and vacations with peace of mind. Designed for those who use transit often or who are always traveling for work, TripIt allows users to create itineraries, access travel plans and information even when offline, and sync their calendars to that of their colleagues. The app also updates users on reservations that have been made and any additional information that they may need while they are away.

If you already use Gmail then you are probably familiar with Google Drive. Google Drive is a cloud-based service where you can upload and store photos, videos and documents that you can share and edit with the rest of your team. Google Drive can be installed on any smartphone, allowing you to be able to sync and upload files while on the go, without fear of losing your work. Google Drive provides 15GB of free storage. If you are in need of additional storage, you are able to purchase 100GB for $1.99/month or 1TB for $9.99/month.

Receipts by Wave

Receipts by Wave, created by Wave Accounting, is an app that assists business owners in keeping track of their receipts and expenses and allows them to share these documents with their Accountant or Business Department.
